Sit on the chair with your legs touching the ground. Now, slowly lift your toes but make sure your heels are on the ground. Hold for few seconds and repeat.
Have you ever seen footballers jogging in one place as a sort of warm up exercise? Well, you can improve the movement of your legs by doing the same. Just jog for 30 seconds at a go by sitting in your chair .
As you sit on a chair, lift your right leg a few inches off the floor. Make sure that your knee is bent at right angle. Hold the position till you are comfortable.
As the name suggests, leg extensions help in relaxing the strain on the muscles and legs. To do this, extend your right leg such that it is in level with your hip and parallel to the ground. Hold as long as you can. Relax and repeat the same with the other leg.
Another simple exercise you can perform by sitting on your chair is a shoulder shrug. For this, pull our shoulders as high as you can and roll them forward and backward few times. It works best to relieve tension in the neck and shoulders and can be done through out the day.
It goes without saying that your fingers are the most neglected part when it comes to exercise. To relive the tension in the fingers, all you need to do is make fist, spread your fingers and bend your fingers.
Another simple alternative to shoulder shrug is raising your shoulder to the ear. hold it for few seconds and then relax. Repeat it with alternating shoulders to ease pressure on the shoulders.
Sit on the edge of a chair and stretch your arms in the front. Keep your back straight as you contract your abdominal muscles. Relax and then repeat. Known as abdominal stretch, this helping in stretching the back and abdomen muscles.
The last one on the list is neck rotation, which is very important if your job profile involves sitting for long. Drop your chin and roll your neck. Now, raise your chin and bend your neck to side ways. Repeat this few times every day to ease tension in the neck.
